Flannel & Silk emerged from a place of deep frustration, stemming from a lifetime of never quite fitting into the conventional mold. I've never really been able to find clothes that fit me well and finally decided impotent rage wasn’t going to solve anything. Buying clothes should not be hard. Finding things that are functional, fashionable, and make me feel good are not big requests.

Fashion, much like life itself, exists on a spectrum. Mainstream fashion, however, tends to stick to a binary. Thankfully, there's a refreshing diversity in the landscape, and a growing number of women-owned and LGBTQ+ brands. These brands cater to specific niches within fashion, offering everything from masculine fits tailored for AFAB bodies to jeans designed to embrace a range of body types.

Flannel & Silk's mission is to showcase both specialized LGBTQ+ and women-owned brands alongside selections from mainstream fashion. Despite mainstream brands' tendency to offer gendered clothing lines, they occasionally unveil unexpected gems. The challenge lies in uncovering these elusive pieces.

I know I'm not alone. Let's create a space that's truly ours, crafted by and for our community. By working together, we can simplify the often daunting task of finding the perfect clothing and accessories, allowing everyone to feel confident and look their absolute best.
